Things are progressing at the new Food Pantry building. Doors and windows have been installed and concrete has been poured. Now some inside work can begin!
The next Mobile Food Pantry is scheduled for November 4 at St. Mark’s Church on Howard Street. The Mobile Pantry is sponsored by the Howard/Greeley County Food Pantry. Food is delivered once a quarter from the Food Bank in Omaha. The truck is unloaded by local volunteers and anyone is allowed to participate. There are no income or geographical restrictions. Distribution times are subject to change, depending on the schedule of the truck, but the goal is for the truck to arrive at 11:00 am, with distribution to begin at noon. The pantry is open until the food is gone. Signs will be posted at St. Mark’s and at the Food Pantry giving more information on arrival and distribution as the information becomes available.
The Food Pantry is always in need of volunteers! The Pantry is open on Tuesdays, 4-6 pm and on Saturdays, 9-11 am. Grace Baptist is responsible for staffing the pantry on the first Saturday of the month. If you can help, contact Lynda Connell, or just come to the pantry on our day.
