SUMMARY:Pastor's letter to Grace Church
DESCRIPTION:Dear Church Family\, \nJune is here.  The summer has begun.  For many of us\, the reality of this summer’s schedule is setting in.  Our schedules are not slowing down.  Daily chores at the house are not becoming less.  Summer activity expectations from spouses\, kids\, and grandkids are increasing.  The desire is to take a break but the ability to take that break is in strong conflict with the desire.  In the middle of all this frustration\, life happens.  Cars break down.  Someone gets sick at the worst time.  Your boss won’t leave you alone.  The A/C goes out in your house.  You feel like Solomon when he wrote Ecclesiastes\, “I’m not getting anywhere\, and this is pointless!” \nIn these moments\, don’t forget God is real.  Don’t forget the words of Isaiah 40:29-31\, which in the NLT states\, He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.  Even youths will become weak and tired\, and young men will fall in exhaustion.  But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength.  They will soar high on wings like eagles.  They will run and not grow weary.  They will walk and not faint. \nGod never promises us an easy life or long moments of rest.  What He does promise us can be summed up in the last line from the famous hymn\, Great is Thy Faithfulness: ‘Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow\, Blessings all mine and ten thousand beside.’ \nThis summer\, remember that this world is not what we are living for.  We are living for God\, and there is a great reward waiting for all in eternity who live out this truth.  This summer is not about the next task on your to-do list.  It is about your growing relationship with God and serving Him through your to-do list.  As Solomon concludes in Ecclesiastes\, and as I’ve mentioned many times in this series\,  The end of the matter; all has been heard.  Fear God and keep his commandments\, for this is the whole duty of man.  For God will bring every deed into judgment\, with every secret thing\, whether good or evil.  Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. \nI love you all! \nPastor Daniel \n

SUMMARY:Biker Sunday
DESCRIPTION:Our annual Biker’s Sunday is scheduled for July 12\, GCA Days weekend!  Our guest speaker is Kurt Sandquist\, retired Men’s Pastor from Lincoln Berean Church.  Kurt has a passion for stimulating spiritual growth in men and the incarcerated.  He is also an avid motorcyclist and is excited to bring his bike and ride with all the bikers after service.  The ride afterward is for all who wish to participate (all vehicles are welcome to join us for the ride after the meal\, not just 2-wheeled ones).  We have been working with local bikers both inside and outside our church to promote this event\, and we need your help!  The church is providing smoked pulled pork\, but we are asking you to provide sides plus a dessert for this meal.  The bikers are our guests for the day\, and we want to pull out the red carpet for them.  Please help us make this a special Sunday for the bikers\, some of whom have told us this is the only Sunday they ever go to church. \nNote: We will not have Sunday School this Sunday\, we will move right into the meal after service\, followed by a 100-mile (approximately) motorcycle ride at 12:30. \nFor ride details\, call Heather at 308.940.3000. \nFor service details\, call the church office at 308.754.4770. \n \n

SUMMARY:5 Day Clubs
DESCRIPTION:5 Day Clubs return to Grace Church the week of July 27-31.  Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) from Omaha has specially-trained youth from St. Paul (Asher & Andrew Bear & Carly Mills)\, as well as two additional youth from Omaha\, to lead three Bible clubs at three different locations.  What a great mission outreach opportunity for our community!  We challenge YOU to find a way to be involved.  We will have a “Donation Tree” in the north lobby with leaves that have names of food items printed on them.  If you could donate any of these items\, please take a leaf.  There are two leaves attached to one another—the first leaf is for you to take to remind you what you volunteered to purchase\, the second leaf is for you to write your name on and drop in the basket by the tree (pens are in the basket) so we know what will be provided and what we need to purchase.  There is also a donation jar by the basket if you would prefer to donate money rather than purchase the food.  There are also other ways to be involved:  attending a club\, serving a meal to our teen teachers\, praying!!!  Oh\, what an important aspect of being involved that one is!  Pray for the kids attending.  Pray for the parents who may stick around and hear the gospel.  Pray for the teens who are teaching.  PRAY!! \nContact Rachel Bear (308.383.0210) if you have any questions or would like more information about helping with any aspect of this outreach ministry to the children of our community. \nClub Locations: \n10:00 am: Elba City Park \n1:00 pm:  723 Sheridan St. (Mel & Linda Fuller’s yard)       \n4:00 pm:  Palmer City Park \n
