Our focus this year…Shining His Light: Emphasize reflecting Christ’s love and being a blessing. We all need grace, mercy, love, joy, encouragement, prayer, etc. to make it through our lives. All these things are something we get from Christ, and we should strive to show it to others. We want to cement a friendship with our Sisters in Christ by focusing on praying for and encouraging one another. We would love to have you participate with us. We have a Facebook page that only those who participate in the secret sister program will be invited to see. This page can be used to ask for prayers for things going on in your life, encouraging notes that speak to you, as well as reminders from Rachel.
If you were not able to make it to the reveal, but would like to participate this year, please see Rachel for your survey to fill out. We would like the survey filled out and back to Rachel Bear’s mailbox by Sunday, March 1. Rachel will then distribute secret sisters on Sunday, March 8.
Our goal is to simply have you put an encouraging note or card (or a sticky note, for that matter) once a month (or more, if you desire) in your secret sister’s mailbox here at church letting her know that you are thinking of her and praying for her. You can also give gifts throughout the year if you so choose. You will find prayer cards/encouraging notes on the slat wall in the north lobby. If you have a specific prayer request that you want shared with the secret sister who has you, give Rachel a note and she will get it to your secret sister so she knows how best to pray for you.
If you do not want to participate in the full Secret Sister program, but would like to take on praying for Sisters in Christ here at Grace, please let Rachel know. She has several who have chosen to take on a specific “sister” here at church and has agreed to pray for her and give her two gifts throughout the year. If you would like to join these ladies, please see Rachel and she will get you a name (or names).
Praying for and encouraging our fellow sisters in Christ is such a precious thing to God—and we need it more than we realize at times. There is strength in numbers—so let’s pray for and encourage each other this year through Secret Sisters!
